Home Education

About
We understand that the decision on how a child should be educated is as unique as the child themself. We support a parent's right to choose to home educate or flexi-school their child in the way that best suits them. Please scroll down to see our range of options to support home-schooled children and families but if you don't see something that suits your needs we are open to suggestions.
Forest Friends
Forest Friends is our provision for children aged 6 - 12 and is for children attending without parents. Each block of sessions is 6/7 weeks and must be booked in full to provide continuity. Sessions run on Thursdays at Whistlewood Common during Derbyshire term times and we offer three timings for maximum flexibility:
9.30am - 12pm aimed at 6-9 years - £25 (£20 using Tax Free Childcare)
1pm - 3.30pm aimed at 9-12 years - £25 (£20 using Tax Free Childcare)
8.30am - 4pm for ages 6-12 £49 (£39.20 using Tax Free Childcare)
You can also claim up to 85% of the cost if claiming Universal Credit
Age ranges are a guide only to give parents an idea of which session will best suit their child; where siblings / friends are of differing ages feel free to discuss with us which option will work best. Children attending for full days will need to bring a packed lunch.
We request that an appropriate adult attends the first session with their child.
Please contact us for further information or to book your place.

Nature nursery
Early education doesn't have to stop at the age of 4 and children are welcome to attend our Nature nursery up to the age of 6 similar to other European countries where children start their formal education later. Primarily outdoors, our days are child-led with lots of time for children to follow their own interests and be creative and explorative. See our Nature nursery page for more information
