Home Education

About
We understand that the decision on how a child should be educated is as unique as the child themself. We support a parent's right to choose to home educate or flexi-school their child in the way that best suits them. Please scroll down to see our range of options to support home-schooled children and families but if you don't see something that suits your needs we are open to suggestions.
Forest Friends
Children aged 6 - 12 years are able to experience Forest school and explore the beautiful surroundings at Whistlewood Common. Parents can leave their child at our Ofsted registered setting confident that they will be well cared for and that their needs will be met. These sessions run with small group sizes and a high adult : child ratio, led by fully qualified Forest School leaders activities are planned to meet the interests of the group.
Sessions cost £15 per child for a 2 hour session and bookings are for a half term block. We are currently taking names for Thursday afternoons so contact us to add your child's name. If your child has additional needs please do feel free to discuss this with us so you can assess whether we would be able to meet their needs.

Family groups
Home educating families are invited to attend our new family group on Thursday mornings at our beautiful site at Whistlewood Common. This is a chance for you to enjoy Forest School alongside your child and explore a range of activities. We offer a pay as you go option for flexibility with a significant discount for those who choose to block the full half term block. Booking is open now for Autumn, please note that booking closes on Mondays for the week ahead. First half term runs for 7 weeks from September 14th - October 26th.
Nature nursery
Early education doesn't have to stop at the age of 4 and children are welcome to attend our Nature nursery up to the age of 7 similar to other European countries where children start their formal education later. Primarily outdoors, our days are child-led with lots of time for children to follow their own interests and be creative and explorative. See our Nature nursery page for more information
