Stay and play sessions
Located at various locations in and around Derby our stay and play sessions offer an hour and a half of forest school fun for parents / carers to enjoy with their child
Run by fully qualified Forest School leaders, our stay and play sessions are loosely based on a different theme each week. The leader will create a potential plan but the unique child-centered ethos of Forest school means that children will be encouraged to follow their own interests and the role of adults will be to facilitate this. Regular experiences are likely to include playing in our mud kitchen, creating works of art using natural materials, singing around the camp fire, making dens and playing games. The number of places will be limited so booking is essential. Please see below for our current sessions
Monday 9.30 - 11am
NEW SESSION - Starts Monday 16th September at Staunton Harold Reservoir, meet by the cafe steps at 9.30am. You can book a single session or a block of 6 for the half term. Have an hour and a half of Forest School fun in the woods and if you have energy left over enjoy the play area and other facilities at this lovely location. Please note that parking charges apply if using the car park.
Thursday 10 - 11.30am
Childminders group at Shelton Infant School - come and have fun with your little ones without the need to count heads every few seconds - our small enclosed site means there is no danger of children wandering off so you can relax and enjoy your time with them.
Friday 9.30 - 11am
Changing to Wednesdays from 25th September
At Whistlewood Common, Melbourne - come and play in our willow dragon! Book a single session or get yourself a discount by booking the half term (6 weeks). Feel free to bring a snack to eat during story time. A limited number of reduced places are available for those on low incomes or in foster care / adopted, please contact us for details.
